Club América Adapts Stadium for New Season

The start of the Clausura Tournament 2025 brought a big surprise with the Eagles staying at the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium. Throughout the 2024 season, there were comments about the board's intention to seek a new venue due to the discomfort of sharing a home with two other clubs. In the Apertura Tournament 2024, the mayor's office closed the stadium due to scheduling issues with the Bullring and lack of maintenance from the owners, despite payments received from Atlante, Cruz Azul, and América. The sudden departure of the celestes and the potros forced the three-time Liga MX champions to adapt the venue to their comforts, turning the stadium into a new nest in the heart of Mexico City. During the early work at the beginning of the year, the stands changed from blue-red to blue-cream, even adapting the nets and the limits of the stadium with the colors and symbols of the club, including a tribute to the legend Cristóbal Ortega. Now, with the interior completely renovated, the team decided to change the facade of the stadium incorporating the colors and symbols of the club so that fans feel at home. In response to previous problems, América fans had not felt comfortable at the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium. With these modifications, the team aims to attract their public again and leave behind issues of mobility and conditioning that previously affected the fan experience.
